As much as I looooove my fitness classes, I feel truly at home strength training in the gym. Classes help to push me harder, improves my VO2 max by actually forcing me to do cardio. But, I’ve always felt that muscle is built best with strength training - Heavier weights and slower tempos, more rest and specific muscle training and splits. Long days, paired with renovations and time away from home made fitness classes a much easier choice. But I’m excited to get back into the gym and grow my muscles again! What do you prefer? I’ve recently been on the organic wine wagon for a while now, even though most, if not all, of the most tasty & expensive wine is not. So why organic? Just trying to avoid as many poisons and pesticides as possible. I’m not a huge wine snob, so most wines taste pretty good to me. This one in particular is made with 100% organic grapes, but still includes sulphates. Don’t forget to replenish! You only have a short window (30 minutes) after a workout to directly feed those muscles. The biggest fail I see after any fitness class or gym workout is people leaving without any plans to get protein and carbs to those starving muscles. Wondering why you’re not making gains? I’ve been scratching my head in confusion for a loooooooong time. This past summer I’ve been reading every book and study I can get my hands on. Truly trying to understand WHAT IS HEALTHY? WHAT IS GOOD FOR ME? WHAT IS BAD FOR ME? And every day I see differing arguments for each. 🍗Eating meat is good for you 🥬Eating meat is bad for you 🍓Take supplements to ensure you’re getting all the vitamins. 🦴Don’t take supplements, they won’t help you. 🏋🏼♀️Strength training is the best. 🤸🏼♂️Cardio is the best. 🥗Eating healthy is the most important. 🤽🏻♀️Being active is the most important. ⏺X,Y & Z causes dieasaes and cancer. ⏺X,Y & Z prevents disease and increases longevity. ...anyone feel me out there? Luckily, the more I read and understand, the more truth i can see. The health industry is fucked. No one can agree. Ideologies, politics and values get spun into the middle of education and studies to morph what’s really going on. So what can I suggest? Pretty much just take care of yourself and do what makes you feel best. There are very obvious truths to living a healthy long life, which I promise to share with you soon. But for the most part, it’s up to you to do the research, speak with a professional and figure out what will make you happy and healthy.
