Down an inch, up and inch! Barre class is such a good supplemental workout for me! I usually focus on low reps and high weights or HIIT training when I workout. Which means I can miss out on training my body’s endurance. The High, rep low weight workouts in Barre targets our slow-twitch muscles, the same kind you’d use in long distance running or cycling. But in a much shorter time. (Yeah I’ll skip running the marathon thanks 👋). Not only that, but man it makes my booty BURN! can’t say any other workout does the same 🔥 . #barre #movement #fitness #fit
Diet and exercise go hand-in-hand for living the best & healthiest life. I’m not going to lie...I used to eat fast food at LEAST once a week and chips and legit whatever I wanted. Then I grew up and realized that even though I was still working out and lean...I didn’t feel great. Healthy food choices can reduce your risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and more. I decided that I wasn’t interested in being unhealthy anymore. I want to FEEL great. I want to AGE well: I mean ya less wrinkles and nice skin is always a top priority...but I also know I want to be able to travel, walk, run, play with my grandkids and not be confined to hundreds of pills and treatments to help me live, when I could have avoided it all with a proper diet & exercise. It’s funny how things don’t always turn out like you planned... . If you told me 10 years ago I’d be a flight attendant. I’d laugh in your face. I thought I’d be on the sidelines of a lakers game talking to Lebron (also would have laughed in your face when you told me Lebron would be playing for the lakers...) . Yesterday I planned for a fun fall hike, and instead had to settle for a less icy, winter hike. . Some days you wake up and can’t wait to be active! Other days the thought of walking to your car after work is exhausting, let alone mustering up the energy to go to the gym. Then there are the days that you want to workout...but you’re not really motivated to figure out what the hell you want to do. Today is 100% one of those days for me. Luckily I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve to get me from lying around to jumping around. I was so pissed off when I showed up to the gym at the hotel. They replaced all their weights with ... . I don’t know why, but I hate those damn weights! They’re awkward to hold and I’m just not used to them. . I saw there was a bosu ball (I never have access to one normally) and decided to piece together my leg workout. . A lot of these moves are inspired by a @oxygenmag workout I used to do a few years ago. Still fucking burns... . Complete 3 sets of 12 reps (per leg) with zero rest between workouts and sets: Bosu ball donkey kick Forward lunge Split lunge Single leg hip lifts One-leg Elevated squat (not actually sure what to call this..)
