Just like blood sugar levels can affect your exhaustion throughout the day...overtraining can do the same. Along with eating healthy snacks between meals, I also skipped my workout. Yup. I put on my workout clothes and everything and decided, screw it! I worked on some things at home and started on my writing again. And... I feel great! For the first time in over a year I didn’t feel the need to take that mid afternoon nap. It’s amazing how functional training can truly improve your physical self. What do I mean by that? For the first time since I was a teenager, I woke up the next morning from a day of skiing...AND I WASN’T SORE. Say whaaaaa???😱😱😱 Functional training involves a lot of movements that we use everyday to make us stronger and give us more endurance. I swear this is why I was not sore the next day and felt great skiing all day - even though I hadn’t been on the hill since last year. HELL YES to feeling like a 14-year-old again! . If ya’ll know me, you know I’m tired 90% of the time. I know I joke about sleeping and napping often...but having energy throughout the day is something that rarely happens for me. Most days I have difficulty getting up, and I crash around 3 pm and end up taking a 2-3 hour nap. Kinda hard to get anything done... After trying different supplements, chatting with my doctor and getting my blood tested, I still had no answer. After visiting with a naturopath, he suggested eating more often and carrying around high protein snacks. Saying that my blood sugar levels often spike and crash throughout the day when I don’t eat or snack enough... LIFE CHANGER!!
